For most of the human experience, the image of the creative force that animates the universe was feminine, an archetype was expressed in art as the Goddess. But the advent of new religions, including Christianity, ushered in the dominant male paradigm in cultures around the world.
How and why did this happen? Come and discover through Hana Marritz's lecture, featuring colorful images showing how the journey of the goddess has unfolded in art over time.
Hana Marritz is a lifelong artist and teacher. She taught high school art in the Bronx and now lives and works as an artist in Equinunk, PA.
