CAS Board Announcements

Spring Membership Drive

Spring is a great time to join CAS or renew your membership. (Your expiration date is on the envelope next to your name.  If there is no date you are not a member.)  Please read “Our Story” on the Home Page to see what we have accomplished and why your membership is especially important at this time.  If membership is not for you, even a small donation would be very welcome. If everyone sent just $5 or $10 it would go a long way.  See our expanded membership benefits listed on the back of the membership form.

CAS and the Economy

In an effort to conserve our resources we are making two important changes. First we are temporarily reducing our gallery days and extending the hours to save energy. The Arts Center will be open Fridays & Saturdays from 11am-6pm and Sundays from 11am-3pm.  And second, after this newsletter only active members will receive physical mailings with exhibition postcards. Another reason to join or renew! As always, you can access the UPDATE Newsletters, class offerings and exhibition announcements on our website.  We hope you will visit us in Livingston Manor often this year. We have great things planned.

Infrastructure – shared exhibition of works by Glenn Church & Sharon Molloy

Running through April 9, this multi-media exhibition pairs these very different artists in a collaborative show that explores the concepts of interconnection, nature, and community through the art mediums of oil on canvas (Molloy); and digital prints, projections, and a video & sound installation (Church).  Using the CAS Arts Center as a hub, spectators can participate by placing themselves on a giant networking map that will track their relationship with other members of the community.  Both Ms. Molloy and Mr. Church are originally from the UK and now currently reside in Parksville, NY and Livingston Manor, NY respectively.

Upcoming Exhibition – The Sullivan County High School Art Show April 18 – May 17, 2009
